During the past two years, we have witnessed a strenuous global battle against this unprecedented pandemic. We are sorry that by now the situation is still unclear for an in-person conference to be held in 2022 due to strict international travel restrictions. Neverthelss, it is hopeful that in 2023 international travels would revive and an in-person conference would be possible.
Based on above considerations, we decide to postpone and hold the 4th International Workshop on Nano-Micro Thermal Radiation (originally known as NanoRad 2020) in Shanghai, China in the year of 2023.
We sincerely hope you could still contribute and present your works in the NanoRad 2023 conference. Our official website and paper submission page will remain open and please feel free to submit your works.

For the abstracts already accepted for oral presentation in 2020, we will still keep them as oral presentations in NanoRad 2023 by default. In the past three decades, the study on nano/microscale thermal radiation has made great progress with the development of nanoscience and nanotechnology, and received significant attention due to its potential application to thermal imaging, energy harvesting, nanomanufacturing, heat flow regulation and local heating below the diffraction limit. Also, by understanding the mechanism of nano-microscale thermal radiation, the performance of various devices can benefit from the modification of reflection, transmission, absorption and emission spectra using micro / nanostructures.
The International Workshop on Nano-Micro Thermal Radiation (NanoRad) has provided an opportunity for leading scientists and young researchers around the world to discuss and exchange the research ideas, recent findings and discoveries, and future outlooks in the field of nano-radiation. Following the First International Workshop held in May 2012 in Matsushima, Japan, NanoRad has been held subsequently in 2014 in Shanghai, China and 2017 in Daejeon, South Korea. The fourth International Workshop on Nano-Micro Thermal Radiation (NanoRad 2020) will be held on June 22-24, 2020, in Shanghai, China. There will also be a short course on Nano-Microscale Thermal Radiation to convey the fundamentals, applications and trends in this field on June 20-22, 2020.
