Call for Nominations: The 2020 Elsevier/JQSRT Raymond Viskanta Awards

This Elsevier young-scientist award in the category of Radiative Transfer is named after Professor Raymond Viskanta of Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana, USA) to honor his profound contributions to the field of Radiative Transfer since 1950s. He is a W. F. M. Goss Professor Emeritus of Engineering at Purdue and a member of the US National Academy of Engineering. He has written more than 500 papers, has guided more than 85 graduate students, and has influenced many engineers and researchers during his stellar career.

The Viskanta Young Scientist Award on Radiation Transfer for 2020 will be open to early-career scientists and engineers who work on the theory and application of radiative transfer. The special target group will be on those working on near-field radiation transfer, although all areas covered by JQSRT will be considered. It is expected that two awards will be presented at the Fourth International Workshop on Nano-Micro Thermal Radiation (NanoRad 2020) which will be held at SJTU in Shanghai, China, in June 22-24, 2020.
